Welcome to Nunawading Christian College

Nunawading Christian College consists of two co-ed schools-one primary  and secondary school, who work together providing quality Christian education in a safe and caring environment to families from all religious and cultural backgrounds.   At Nunawading Christian College, we recognise the importance of working in partnership with parents in providing excellent Christian education for our students. The College emphasises the development of the total person: the physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual aspects are all important.   It is our aim to provide an academic program which meets the needs of each student to enable them to reach their fullest potential.
Our school is located in a natural bushland setting, is small and personal, close to
public transport, provides a private bus service, and works to ensure a sense of belonging for students and their families, whilst providing the highest academic standards in a truly nurturing environment.

Outstanding Academic Success

During 2009, our students participated in the National Assessment Program for Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests. Reviews and analysis of the data have shown that Nunawading Christian College achieved outstanding results in 2009. Our local analysis has been supported by Adventist Schools Victoria reviews, and the results are available via the My Schools website. www.myschool.edu.au

At NCC, all grades from years 3-9 recorded higher results in every percentile band for Victorian students across the full range of tests. NCC mean and median scores were higher for every cohort of students.

This is a fantastic result and is a testament to the quality of teaching and learning that is occurring at Nunawading Christian College. The data also supports the student learning that teachers and administrators are witnessing in the classroom.

Our students and teachers are to be commended for their outstanding efforts.

Results based on the VELS Equivalent Scale show our median scores ranging from a few months ahead  (as in year 3 grammar and punctuation and year 7 writing), to over 12 months ahead (as in year 5 spelling and year 9 grammar and punctuation).  Year 9 results especially show great advancement in learning with results in all language areas greater than 12 months advanced. In particular, numeracy was almost 12 months ahead of the results for Victorian state results.
